A Contra Dance for All

  • Camp Friendship 339 8th Street Brooklyn, NY, 11215 United States (map)

Ahhhh, we’re so excited to host the NYC debut of another great band! We’ll have live music from the brand new Here on the Hill band plus calling Harris Lapiroff.

Here on the Hill is three musicians who can't resist playing together. The Boston-based trio has been making waves back home with their high-energy twin fiddles and dynamic rhythm guitar. They are thrilled to bring their music to the Brooklyn Contra as part of their first East Coast tour!

Harris Lapiroff is a caller hailing from Somerville MA. He's worn many hats through many locales in the dance community; he was an organizer of Youth Dance Weekend for 6 years and is currently on the boards of Cambridge MA's local contra dance BIDA and Pinewoods Camp. He strives for an efficient, friendly calling style that gets dancers moving as quickly as possible and then gets out of the way.
