Ohhh its gonna be a good dance! We’ll have live music from the Some Assembly Required Quartet, and calling from Lyss Adkins!
The Some Assembly Required Trio brings the energy of NYC's best musicians to the Brooklyn Contra stage. Headlined by Matthew Christian's Irish fiddling, you never know who'll show up, from folks fresh of the Broadway or Grand Ol Opry stage to a harmonious cello or a trombone playing mandolin picker.
This week Matthew Christian's signature busker's fiddle sound is joined by the and Colin Forhan's traveler's guitar, the klezmer influenced saxophone of Wendy Scher and jazz club percussion of Jerome Morris. Plus up coming players as part of our open band!
When you ask a Muppet to masquerade as a human and call a contra dance, you get Alyssa. Dancers consistently describe my teaching and calling as clear, joyful, and energetic. I stay precise and concise in my communication so everyone can more fully enjoy the dance, the music, and each other.
