Celebrate the holiday season with a magical dance! We’ll see you for live music from Cozy Socks , a waltz lesson at 4:00, and contras called by Chloe Levine!
A new band born from the Brooklyn contra and session scene, The Cozy Socks features the cheerful playing of Alex Richey, Ben Graubart, and Rebecca Sohn. With Alex on the keyboard and Ben and Rebecca rocking twin fiddles, the Cozy Socks deliver a unique and eclectic take on contra dance music drawing from Celtic, Jazz, and folk sources of all stripes—a danceable concoction that will knock the cozy socks right off of your feet.
Chloe Levine is a lifelong folk dancer and community organizer with more than a decade of calling experience under her belt. She's called for groups of all shapes, sizes, and experience levels, from Maine to Texas, and her résumé ranges from small-town barn dances to techno sessions at Youth Dance Weekend and beyond. With thoughtfully crafted programs, clear and concise teaching, and a love for contra that shines through, Chloe's evenings behind the mic leave everyone with a spring in their step.
